Sunday we celebrated Denice's birthday. First up was brunch at Betty's. Now I'll confess I've never really understood why so many people love Betty's, but brunch was delicious. It was a beautiful fall day so after brunch we went to the zoo. The zoo is a mixed bag. Some of the exhibits are very good - the rainforest pavilion is particularly awesome - but others border on cruelty. I can only imagine the kind of money needed to sustain let alone make improvements, so I hope better times are ahead for the zoo.
